In geography research menu sheets for each unit are given to all year groups, students complete one or more of these tasks. The tasks are listed in order of difficulty and students are encouraged to challenge themselves. The homework tasks are designed to develop research skills. They can be presented in a variety of ways including power point presentations, posters, models, games and videoed news reports. Students are given a few weeks to complete their project and then they present their work in a ‘show and tell’ lesson where the rest of the class can learn from each piece of work.
Also, at the end of each unit students complete a revision mind map in class. Students take these sheets home to learn them ready for the assessment.
