As part of providing a well-rounded school experience, St. Osmund’s holds a strong reputation for personal development, especially in offering a variety of educational trips and residential opportunities. With regards to our residential offer, whilst it has been impressive and very successful for our students in supporting their personal growth, we have listened to feedback from parents along the way. In particular, we have listened to the cost (in the context of the relative cost of living) and seeming unwritten expectation that parents ‘do not want to be the ones who have their child missing out’ on a yearly experience.

In addressing these two main areas, we proudly refresh what we are calling ‘Enrichment Week’ from 7^th – 11^th July 2025. The purpose behind this new format is to have all trips and residentials in one school week (the penultimate week of the academic year); this will minimise disruption to learning and optimise staffing through the busy summer term.

We have worked hard to construct an offer that includes a variety of exciting activities to suit a wide range of interests. We have worked equally hard to seek to bring down the cost of the experiences we can offer; you will see in the booklet our offer includes activities that cost nothing as well as activities that cost £100 or under. As you might expect, the larger residential activities cost more than £100 however we have worked hard to keep these costs down. In continuing to work from and live out our school’s vision, ‘No one left out, no one left behind’ (Thessalonians 5:11), the offer includes how we can support students in receipt of additional Pupil Premium funding.

The only residential experience not included in Enrichment Week is our Key Stage 3 Ski Trip. Obviously, this trip takes place during the European ski season (so not July!) and in addressing again the concern relating to the financial cost to parents, we decided to offer this opportunity once every two years. With the most recent ski trip being January 2024, the next ski trip will be in early 2026.
