Year 5 Food Technology ingredients
In the term that your child studies Food Technology they will receive a lesson once a fortnight. They will learn about the key skills and knowledge required in a kitchen environment; health & safety, hygiene and safe chopping skills. This will be delivered through a combination of practical work and classroom based activities. Demonstrations will precede a practical lesson. Practical lessons are split over two weeks due to class size. The first practical week, half the class cook whilst the other half complete activities in the classroom. They then swap over the following lesson. The pupils will be told in advance when their practical lesson will be. On this day they must bring in their ingredients from home and a suitable container for transporting the item home.
