Mrs Saira Sawtell
Welcome to St. Osmund’s. We are known fondly as ‘Ossie’s’ in our locality and this term signals the high regard that our community has for the school; many happy memories are readily recalled.
My staff team and I pledge to bring energy and inspiration to each and every day: in our lessons, in our support for students and in the creation of our learning community. We strive to be dynamic about what we do and to ensure that all aspects of school life are of the highest quality. We take our duty to the young people in our care most seriously and we want the best outcomes for them, in the widest sense. We believe that every member of our community can be successful, and through strong academic and pastoral support we provide a safe and respectful environment where our children thrive and achieve.
Our curriculum provides a wide range of opportunities for all. We strive to embrace new and emerging technologies, be at the forefront of new teaching pedagogy and develop the creativity of individuals. Our many artistic ventures (spanning music, visual and performing arts) help provide an array of opportunities to shine.
We aim for each child to be determined, hard-working, confident, tolerant and independent. As they mature and develop through the school they become individuals who respect not only themselves, but also others and the world around them, ensuring that they are fully prepared for a successful and happy life after their time with us as they step into their next phase of learning. Our core Christian values of faith, hope and love nurture the school each and every day.
Our website and prospectus will give you a flavour of our school but please, come and meet us and see the school in action to gain a real sense of what ‘Ossie’s’ is about. Contact the school office to arrange a visit.
